Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School

Successful Learners Today

Culture was the major determining factor in the decision to build PECS.  All students in grades Pre-K through 5 receive daily instruction in the Muskogee Creek Language and receive instruction once a week in Florida Seminole Arts and Crafts.  Students in grades 6-8 receive fifty minutes of Muskogee Creek Language instruction daily as well as education in Florida Seminole Arts and Crafts once a week.  Students in grades 7 and 8 are able to earn high school foreign language credits in Muskogee Creek I and II, which satisfies their foreign language college requirement.

Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School is a public charter school offering educational opportunities for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grades.  As a public charter school, PECS follows the same standards and the students take the same assessments as all other Florida public schools.

PECS earned and “A” rating during both 2022-2023 and 2021-2022 school years.  Out of 3,417 schools in Florida, PECS ranks 283 in percentage points earned in the FSA, placing it in the top 8% of all schools. PECS also is the highest performing school in the Heartland Consortium – which consists of 42 schools in six rural counties including Glades County.
